Malaysia conducts a general election once every five years. Our Prime Minister , Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi announced the dissolution of Parliament on 13-Feb-08. In Malaysia, a new parliament will be established within 60 days after dissolution of Parliament. There are quite a lot of parties that are joining the election such as BN, DAP, PAS, KEADILAN, SOCIALIST FRONT and etc.
Well, not everyone who is a registered voter turns up to vote on polling day. This is due to problems with time or distance and also apathy, either because people are not interested or because they feel their votes will not make a difference. As an example, i am one of the qualified malaysian who has yet to register as a voter as i feel that my vote will not make a difference to certain party that i am going to vote.
In the election, one of the first things people want to know is how many seats have been won by which party. The party which won the majority seats will then choose a leader to be Prime Minister of the country. For me, i do not really care who is our next Prime Minister as long as he could render a service to us ( malaysian), it would be more than enough.Malaysia conducts a general election once every five years.
